Google gives back

Google ads are everywhere: in your gmail, google search results, popular blogs. They’re popular because they get good results for both the advertisers and the publishers who put them on their websites or online blogs. Advertisers only pay when somebody clicks on their ad, and can set a fixed amount that they are willing to pay everyday so they won’t go over their advertising budget. But did you know that Google can publish your non-profit ads for free?

There are restrictions, of course: for example, US-based organizations must have current 501(c)(3) status, as assigned by the Internal Revenue Service or IRS. Go to this page for more information on Google Grants and to this page for organizations based in other countries.

Tabs… It’s all about Tabs

Whether you are using IE, Firefox or some other browser, we all share the same frustration that is the difficulty of shifting through several tabs for they do scroll over and it gets confusing after a dozen or so(except maybe if you have a 21inch display). So what can be done with the problem, nothing much sadly. IE 10 from Microsoft is trying the novel approach of having the browser’s tabs on the vertical instead of the horizontal.

So will it work? Who knows, for it still is a fact that the horizontal resolution of most display systems is way much more than the vertical. It is a sight for sore eyes though it may take some time to get used to before you get the proper familiarity with the design feature.
